Meet Jessica Trainor - a classically trained singer, voice teacher, and Career and Life Coach. She used to underpin this trifecta with a day job. But, she realized that if she kept treating her passions as a hobby (underpinned by a toxic work environment), she would not hit the goals she had for performance and teaching career. She ditched the traditional career path, hasn't looked back for almost a year, and just travelled for five weeks and worked remotely during that time. Here are some initial insights from her time away!
Last night, I signed on to Skype for my monthly mastermind meeting with other female solopreneurs. This month, it turns out we all had something similar on our minds: we are too damn busy. Some say it is the entrepreneur's natural state. I refuse to accept this. Beyond the fact that this idea is fundamentally out of alignment with one of my core values, quality of life, I sincerely believe that what's actually occurring is not a crisis of productivity, but a crisis of available mental space.
